Presenter-ABOTA’s Masters in Trial Seminar

Managing Partner, Mickey deLaup, participated as a presenter at ABOTA’s Masters In Trial seminar in New Orleans on December 5, 2014.

ABOTA, The American Board of Trial Advocates, is an organization with over 7,200 of the best trial lawyers in America, and is dedicated to the preservation of the right to trial by jury guaranteed by the 7th Amendment. Educating lawyers in the art of trial advocacy is a primary goal of the Foundation of the American Board of Trial Advocates.

At the Masters in Trial seminar, ABOTA presents a trial with openings, direct examination and cross-examination of lay witnesses and experts, and closing arguments, in front of a “jury” who then renders a verdict and fills the presenters and the attendees in on what worked and what didn’t during the presentations. A former district court judge presided over the “trial” in New Orleans.
